Apprentice Maintenance Service Technician / Technologist

Our client is a well-established Canadian manufacturer of a sophisticated electro mechanical testing equipment used in the oil and gas and automotive industries. They are only one of a few companies worldwide that manufactures this critical piece of equipment that performs a mandatory certification on their client’s products. They have a track record of close to 50 years of reliability and performance in their industries.

They are in growth mode and are highly motivated to bring on board an Apprentice Maintenance Service Technician / Technologist who will train on their equipment and technology and will eventually independently travel to client locations performing installations, commissioning, training, calibrations, and maintenance of their equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Train to perform installations, commissioning, calibrations, and maintenance of company equipment
• Eventually communicate with customers directly consulting on equipment issues and potentially new business
• Independently troubleshoot and solve site problems with clients
• Be an integral member of the Engineering team in evaluating customer insights, feedbacks, needs, and potential business opportunities

Qualifications:

• 3+ years experiences in a maintenance role in a manufacturing environment working with electro mechanical automation equipment
• Post-Secondary education that could include Technologies, Technicians, and Red Seal Electricians
• Ability to read electrical schematics and engineered drawings
• Strong technical skills in maintenance and using electrical, electronic, and mechanical tools
• Possess a valid driver’s license and passport documentation
• Ability to travel with ease in the U.S., Mexico, Europe, and Asia
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time (Most travel is in the U.S., then Mexico, and some travel to Europe and Asia. The majority of the travel will be during the week with weekends off, with the option to drive or fly)
• Good verbal and written communication skills working with customers and project teams alike
